Symphony No. 3 "Eroica", Op. 55

The symphony that changed everything. Originally dedicated to Napoleon, Beethoven furiously scratched out the dedication when Napoleon crowned himself Emperor. Twice the length of any previous symphony, it shattered classical conventions. The funeral march second movement is devastating, and the horn entry in the recapitulation remains one of music's great debates.
