Polonaise in A-flat major "Heroic", Op. 53

The most famous polonaise ever written, a defiant celebration of Polish national spirit. The thundering octave passage in the left hand depicting cavalry is one of the most exciting moments in piano music. Chopin reportedly played this at gatherings of Polish exiles in Paris with tears streaming down his face.
