Saint-Saëns declared "I gave everything to it I was able to give." The famous organ entry in the finale, building from a hushed chorale to a blazing fortissimo, is one of the most thrilling moments in orchestral music. The work uses a piano four-hands alongside the orchestra, and the cyclic transformation of the opening theme is masterful.
