A single-movement sonata of ecstatic intensity. Scriabin was moving toward his mystic period, and the work pulses with an almost religious fervor. The opening's whispered trills erupt into cascades of sound before the rapturous main theme. "I call you to life, O mysterious forces!" Scriabin wrote as its epigraph.
