The Planets, Op. 32

Seven movements representing the astrological character of each planet (excluding Earth). "Mars, the Bringer of War" with its brutal 5/4 rhythm influenced every film score that followed. "Jupiter" contains the great hymn tune later set to "I Vow to Thee, My Country." Neptune fades into silence with an offstage women's chorus.
